Sami is a multi-faceted creative making her way as an actress in Los Angeles. Her passion and experiences as a model, photographer, and actress inevitably lead to picture-perfect results. Check out her story and images of her collaboration with photographer, Khoren Lawson, below.
Say hello to Sami:
You’re a California native – if you could move anywhere in the world, where would it be?
That’s a tough question – Italy? My family is from there, I speak Italian, and love all things Italian. 🙂
You have a true passion for the arts. Tell us about the different facets of your artistry.
Well, really I consider myself an aspiring actress – my interest in acting started when I was probably around 10 years old. Then with acting, came other work in front of the camera like modeling. Now, I also work behind the camera as a photographer – I actually have a FStop photography profile as well. 🙂
Is there one medium you intend to focus on more in the future?
I’m an aspiring actress, so in the future, I hope to be more immersed in the film industry!
What’s the most challenging aspect of working in the creative industry?
I’d say the competition. There are so many talented people trying to make it, that it’s sometimes difficult to be noticed. It’s great when us artists find digital platforms (such as FStop) and communities to collaborate with, as well as learn from.
What career path would you consider if you hadn’t pursued one in the arts?
Something in criminology or law. I’ve always been really interested in crime scenes, serial killer cases and unsolved murders. As dark as that sounds, there’s something intriguing about solving the puzzle, getting justice, and understanding the mind behind it all.
Where do you hope to see yourself in five years?
Another tough question! In five years, I hope to be successful in the film industry as an actress and start thinking about settling down and starting a family!
Do you have any projects you’d like to show off?
I was cast in a horror film that’s currently finishing the final stages of pre-production! It’s called A New Beginning, check it out on Facebook! Coming to a theatre near you!
You recently collaborated with Khoren Lawson, a photographer on FStop – what was the concept for the shoot?
The concept focused on street photography. No props, no sets – just the natural streets and surroundings of Downtown Los Angeles.
